FAQ
Graf Tree FAQ
What is Graf Tree Care's main order of business?
We specialize in Plant Health Care, specialized root feedings, disease and pest control/prevention. We have created a niche with our unique "Holistic Approach" to tree health. At certain times of the year we focuse on pruning and removal. We also have a niche in native restoration, taking properties that have been over-run by invasives and restoring them back to natural woodlands and wetlands. We also offer a supplemental lawn care service, and even landscape lighting with our sister company Moonscape Landscape Illumination.
Who and what exaclty is Moonscape?
Moonscape is the premier landscape lighting company in the Chicagoland area having a great reputation for the last 25 years. Graf Tree worked closely with Moonscape as a subcontractor from 2000-2007 installing downlights high in the canopy of trees to mimic the moonlit effect, a very artistic and unique touch to enhance the evening landscape. In January of 2008, Graf Tree acquired Moonscape and made it a division of Graf Tree Care. Although it is still it's own separate company, we share the same office and shop and the employees offer each other help when needed.
Are there any new areas that Graf Tree Care is getting into?
Yes, as a matter of fact, we just launched a new divison of Geographic Information Systems, or GIS. We are helping municipalities, park districts, golf cousres, and land developers manage their trees and other natural resources through the use of GIS.

There has never been a better time for root feeding for your trees. Last year’s drought certainly took its toll on our green friends. Nutrient uptake from the soil is directly related to soil moisture, because water is the vehicle that moves nutrients up the tree to the leaf where photosynthesis takes place.
Extreme heat and extended drought can also destroy natural beneficial organisms in the soil. Considering all this, this spring would be a great time for deep root feeding to keep your trees in best possible health. Read more…
